Building one successful business is no small feat. Growing two at the same time takes vision, determination, and the right support.

Since becoming a client of the Houston Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in 2023, Simone Steele has continued to expand both Queen Aesthetics and Simply Shady Sunscreen while turning her medical expertise into thriving entrepreneurial ventures

A board-certified Physician Assistant with more than a decade of medical and surgical experience, Steele founded Queen Aesthetics to provide luxury medspa services, advanced cosmetic treatments, and personalized skincare solutions. She later launched Simply Shady Sunscreen, a mineral-based tinted moisturizing sunscreen developed to complement all skin tones while promoting healthy skin protection.

As her businesses continued to grow, Steele partnered with Kim Way, Houston SBDC Business Advisor and Director, for strategic business guidance and support. Through one-on-one advising, she has continued strengthening her business strategy while identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.

Steele also participated in the Houston SBDC's Prosperity Bank Master Class, where she refined her business pitch, strengthened her entrepreneurial skills, and earned fourth place in the program's pitch competition

"Simone has an incredible ability to combine her medical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset," said Way. "She continues to look for innovative ways to serve her clients while building two strong businesses. It has been exciting to watch her growth, and I look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next."
