Ten years after launching STC Consulting, Soledad Tanner is celebrating a milestone that reflects years of resilience, strategic growth, and a commitment to helping entrepreneurs build stronger businesses. Throughout that journey, the Houston Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has been a trusted partner, providing guidance and resources to help her business continue evolving.
Founded in 2016, STC Consulting helps small businesses strengthen their financial foundations through fractional CFO services, financial optimization, profitability analysis, business coaching, and financial training. Tanner launched the firm after a successful global corporate career, bringing more than 30 years of experience in finance, strategy, and performance management to entrepreneurs seeking stronger financial decision-making
As her business grew, Tanner partnered with the Houston SBDC to strengthen her business strategy, expand marketing and business development efforts, and build meaningful connections through workshops, training, and networking opportunities. Working alongside SBDC advisor LeeVera Smith, she refined her business model and positioned STC Consulting for long-term growth.
Like many entrepreneurs, Tanner also navigated significant challenges, including Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic. The continued guidance and support she received through the Houston SBDC helped her adapt to changing business conditions while strengthening the foundation of her company.
