Rhonda Ellisor is the director of Sam Houston State University SBDC in Huntsville, Texas. Ellisor joins the center after serving as a director in the Office of University Advancement at Sam Houston for almost 14 years. Ellisor is an SHSU alumna with a BBA in general business. Her background includes work with various types of small businesses as a small business employee and small business family member, founder and owner. She has a long history in a variety of real estate sales and leasing, promotion, event planning, budgeting and marketing positions. Prior to SHSU, she served as the executive vice president for the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce and director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center and Gift Shop.


Kim McLerran has been a Business Advisor for the Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center in Huntsville since 2009.  She has a BBA from SHSU and has obtained certificates of numerous trainings, in various fields with hands on experience in the business, legal, real estate and education industries.  She has resided in the Huntsville area since 1996 and has personal business experiences in the cattle and land management industries. McLerran is a community and chamber volunteer. 

 

John Fletcher is a Business Advisor for the Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center in Huntsville.  He has a BS from SHSU and an MA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.  He brings 21 years of owner/operator business experience, specializing in multimedia and marketing as the owner of an award-winning video production company.  He joined the center in 2021 after serving as the Operations Manager and Director of Content for USA Jump Rope for 17 years.  He has been a resident of Huntsville since 1990 and is a member of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce.

 

Drew Chance is a Business Advisor for the Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center in The Woodlands. Chance received a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Leadership Studies from Kansas State University. He also graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters of Public Administration. Chance has personally started two small businesses that includes seven years of ownership experience in the construction industry. Prior to business ownership, Chance worked extensively in sales and budgeting. He is a resident of The Woodlands and is active throughout the community.

Allen Goodwin has recently joined Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center  in The Woodlands. Goodwin is serving as a Business Advisor, focusing on meeting the business needs of Montgomery County. He graduated from Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State University, earning a BBA degree in Business Administration. Goodwin brings 40 years of Banking, Finance, and Real Estate experience in and around Southeast Texas. Goodwin has held various offices in local Civic Clubs and Chambers of Commerce.

Sue Slater is an administrative assistant with Sam Houston State University SBDC. She graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University where she studied accounting. She enjoyed 37 years as Owner/Manager of small family businesses in the retail and college bookstore industries. Slater is active in the community and volunteers with the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce.
