Jasmin Espy Speed has more than 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, small business development, non-profit and corporate executive leadership. Prior to joining the SBDC, she spent 17 years as an entrepreneur, owning 2 staffing agencies, an Arby’s Franchise, and an online employment coaching and resume service. 

Prior to her business ownership, Espy held several leadership positions in the Telecom industry to include managing wholesale product services revenues more than $1.4B. She holds a BA from Michigan State University, a certificate from Dartmouth’s Tuck Diversity Business Program and is a Graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Program.  Espy is passionate about sharing her expertise to help foster small business ownership and economic development.

Jocelyne Vargas brings a wealth of experience to her role as Program Manager at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Prairie View A&M University. With a strong and diverse background in customer service, administration, accounting, and commercial real estate, she offers a well-rounded perspective and skill set to support small business owners in achieving their goals. Jocelyne is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and making a meaningful impact in her community. As a proud mother to an 8-year-old daughter and a bilingual professional, she values connection and inclusivity in every interaction, helping the SBDC serve a wide and diverse client base.
