Target Audience:  This workshop is intended for individuals that want an introduction to the procurement methods used by the Federal Government to acquire commercial goods, services, and construction.

Workshop Description:  Have you wondered why a government official decides to use a Request for Quotes (RFQ), Invitation for Bids (IFB), and Request for Proposals (RFP) procurement method?  Do you know what each means and when they are used?  Government officials select procurement methods to meet certain objectives depending on what they are buying and the estimated cost.

This workshop will educate you on the procurement methods used by the Federal Government to buy products and services.  If you want to learn what it means and how does it affect you when the government issues Request for Quotes, Invitation for Bids, or Request for Proposals this workshop will educate you on each method.  We will also review the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) website and show you how to research clauses and provisions used by government officials in solicitations and contracts that apply to you when doing business with the Federal Government.  Finally, we will show you the steps to become eligible to do business with the Federal Government and where to find federal opportunities.

Learning Objective:  The objective of the workshop is to provide you a basic understanding of how the Federal Government solicits for goods and services using the RFQ, IFB, and RFP procurement methods and how to use the FAR to research solicitation and contract terms and conditions.
