The Lamar State College Port Arthur Small Business Development Center is proud to host the 2026 Small Business Symposium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the J. Michael & Bridget Shahan Events Center in Orange, Texas.
This annual event brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community partners for an inspiring day filled with learning, networking, and opportunities to grow your business. Whether you’re launching a new venture, expanding an existing business, or simply exploring the possibilities of entrepreneurship, the Symposium offers valuable insights and meaningful connections to help you succeed.
The day will conclude with our Annual Small Business Awards Banquet (table sponsorships and dinner tickets available separately), where we will celebrate and recognize outstanding entrepreneurs and businesses making a lasting impact in our community. Join us for a day of connection, education, and celebration. You won’t want to miss it!
Highlights:
- Expert-led training seminars for small business owners throughout the day
- Small Business Expo featuring local businesses and resource partners ready to connect and collaborate
- Ignite the Vision Competition Finals during the luncheon (awardees will be announced at the Annual Awards Banquet that evening)
This symposium is intended for new and existing small business owners, industry partners, community stakeholders, and those thinking about starting a business. Preregistration is required.
Registration includes attendance to training, one luncheon ticket per registration, and admission to the Small Business Expo. Annual Small Business Awards Banquet dinner tickets and table sponsorships are available separately. It is imperative to add sbdctraining@uh.edu to your approved senders' list to be able to receive event confirmations for SBDC events.
Please Note:
Each person attending an event must have their own account. Multiple people may not register under one account.
The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a class for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur, we will use the email you provided to contact you.
Preregistration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not preregistered, we will not be able to contact you.
If you choose to register at the door, you will need your mobile device to complete your registration otherwise you will not be allowed to attend.
Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.
No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.
Only service animals allowed - If you need to bring a service animal with you to a workshop please contact us ahead of time.
