This workshop gives small business owners and solopreneurs a clear, practical introduction to creating a website that is structured well, communicates effectively, and supports search visibility. Participants will learn the essential pages every small business website needs, how to organize information so customers can quickly understand what the business offers, and the foundational elements that make a site easier for customers - and search engines - to navigate.

The session also covers how to craft strong, customer-focused messaging that helps visitors understand your value quickly and encourages them to take action. We’ll discuss what information matters most on each page and how to write in a way that builds clarity, trust, and relevance.

Building on these fundamentals, the workshop concludes with five web design best practices that directly support mobile usability, user experience, and SEO — helping small businesses create websites that look professional and function effectively across devices.

By the end of the session, participants will understand how to build a website that is clear, usable, and search-friendly, and designed to help them reach their business goals.

Highlights:

  • The essential structure of a small business website and the core pages every business should have
  • How to write clear, concise messaging that communicates what you do and who you serve
  • Simple layout and navigation strategies that improve customer experience
  • Mobile-friendly design principles that ensure your site works wherever customers find you
