The SBA’s 8(a) Business Development Program helps grow and prepare socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses to be more competitive in the federal marketplace. A top benefit of the program is the opportunity to compete and receive set aside and sole source contracts. If you’re registered in SAM.gov, completed your DSBS profile, and thought about applying to the 8(a) program, this session is for you.
Please note: 8(a) Eligibility Requirements include you operate as a small business, you have not previously participated in the 8(a) BD Program, your business is at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens who are socially disadvantaged and economically disadvantaged (personal net worth below $850K, adjusted gross income of $400K or less, and assets totaling $6.5 million or less), demonstrate good character, and you show potential for success by being in business for at least two years and have the managerial, operational, financial, and technical capacity to perform on contracts.

This class is intended for small businesses who have been operational for at least two years, meet the above requirements, and want to discover how they can apply for the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program.

The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a class for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur, we will use the email you provided to contact you.
Preregistration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not preregistered, we will not be able to contact you.
If you choose to register at the door, you will need your mobile device to complete your registration otherwise you will not be allowed to attend.
Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.
No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.
