Mid-America Contractors, LLC: Building on Faith, Integrity and Excellence

For more than 20 years, Elizabeth Cravens, owner and president of Mid-America Contractors, LLC, has led her company with a foundation built on ethics, passion and hard work. Headquartered in Port Arthur, Mid-America Contractors delivers high-quality industrial and construction services across multiple states, earning a reputation for excellence in reliability and craftsmanship.
With over 61 years of combined experience among its leadership, the woman-owned business provides a range of services, including building maintenance, pre-engineered buildings, metal roofing, scaffolding, industrial insulation and custodial services. Mid-America’s success has been driven by values of honesty and dedication, principles that Cravens instills at every level of the company.
When Cravens sought to strengthen her company’s financial position and strategic growth, she turned to the Lamar State College-Port Arthur Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for guidance. Working closely with SBDC Director Dana Espinal, she refined her business strategy and explored new opportunities for operational improvement and sustainability.
“Elizabeth has built an incredible company grounded in ethics and community,” Espinal said. “Our goal was to provide the tools and support to help her continue that legacy while identifying new growth opportunities in the region.”
The Lamar State College Port Arthur SBDC has been a tremendous resource. You don’t have to grow alone—their expertise helps you strengthen your business and take the next step with confidence.
