Government Area: Federal government only.  State and local government procurement subjects are not addressed in this workshop.

Target Audience: This workshop is intended for individuals that have a minimal understanding of federal government procurement and are looking to get an introduction to the terminology and the procurement methods used by the federal government to acquire commercial goods, services, and construction.

Workshop Description: This workshop addresses how the federal government solicits goods, services, and construction using Request for Quotes (RFQ), Invitation for Bids (IFB), and Request for Proposals (RFP) procurement methods in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements.  It will also give you an understanding of when each solicitation method (RFQ, IFB, RFP) may be used and the key terms and processes associated with each.  Additionally, the workshop informs you of the steps to become eligible to do business with the federal government and where to find federal opportunities.

Learning Objective: The objective of the workshop is to provide you a basic understanding of how the federal government solicits for goods and services using the RFQ, IFB, and RFP procurement methods and how to use the FAR to research solicitation and contract terms and conditions.
