Join the IRS Stakeholder Liaison and the University of Houston SBDC for a collaborative and solutions-driven IRS Small Business Forum. This roundtable-style event is designed to foster open dialogue between the IRS and the small business community, including chambers, economic development groups, industry associations, and entrepreneurs.

This session will focus on listening to and learning from small business representatives, with the goal of improving IRS services and addressing key concerns raised by our community partners.

Highlights:

  • "The Big Beautiful Bill" - feedback and reactions to IRS billing notices and payment processes
  • The Business Online Account - adoption challenges, usability issues, and potential improvements
  • The Individual Online Account - especially relevant for Schedule C filers navigating tax tools
  • FIRE and EFTPS - functionality, pain points, and enhancement suggestions

Attendees are encouraged to collect and submit feedback in advance from their members and peers. This input will help shape a rich, actionable discussion on how the IRS can better support small business needs.

The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a class for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur, we will use the email you provided to contact you.

Preregistration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not preregistered, we will not be able to contact you.

If you choose to register at the door, you will need your mobile device to complete your registration otherwise you will not be allowed to attend.

Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.

No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.

Only service animals allowed - If you need to bring a service animal with you to a workshop please contact us ahead of time.

Sheba Gonzalez is a Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service. Her mission is to establish relationships with tax professionals, industry stakeholders, and others working with small business owners to share tax information and ensure compliance with ever-changing tax laws. She represents the IRS at many face-to-face and virtual seminars and events where she discusses IRS policies and procedures, tax law updates, and emerging issues.
