The GovStrategy Cohort is a four-week intensive training program designed to equip small business owners and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully pursue government contracting opportunities. Through a practical and hands-on curriculum, participants will explore foundational concepts in public procurement, learn how to do business with the State of Texas and local government entities, and develop customized action plans for sustainable growth in the government contracting sector. Participants will benefit from expert-led sessions, peer learning, targeted exercises, and curated resources to improve their competitive readiness.
The series will be held on Wednesdays, August 6, 13, and 20 from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and Wednesday, August 27 from 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This class is ideal for:
- Small business (including startups or established firms) owners new to or exploring government contracting (specifically State of Texas & Local entities/jurisdictions)
- Prospective APEX Clients to provide them with the necessary foundation before being assigned an APEX Advisor
- SBDC clients seeking to expand into public sector markets
- Entrepreneurs with commercially viable products or services
- Business development managers seeking foundational knowledge in government procurement
Please Note: Federal Contracting will not be covered in this workshop, only State of Texas & Local.

Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.
No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.
