Kickstart Your Content with Canva | Houston Center SBDC

Join us for this hands-on session and learn the fundamentals of Canva. You’ll discover how to use the platform to create content you can use for social media, print, and email marketing. And you’ll have time in the class to create your own content piece such as a flyer, announcement, invitation, or social media post.  

Highlights:

• Navigate the platform, upload and store files, find templates, add text and images, and collaborate with colleagues
• Create content for social media, print, and email that coordinates with your brand aesthetic
• Learn to edit your own videos using Canva’s video suite and animation tools

This hands-on class is intended for new to slightly experienced users wanting to utilize Canva’s tools for their marketing.

Desktop computers will be provided.  You are invited to log into your existing Canva account or we will assist you in creating a new account at the beginning of the class.

Lunch provided. If you register after 10 a.m. on April 4, 2024, you will receive a Turkey Sandwich.

Please Note:

No one will be admitted to computer workshops later than 10 minutes past the start time. 

This training is conducted on PC computers - MAC computers are not used.

Please do not bring your laptops as we cannot offer assistance using them and the exercises used during the workshop cannot be loaded to personal laptops. Each participant will have a PC computer to work on during the workshop.

Each person attending an event must have their own account. Multiple people may not register under one account.

The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a class for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur, we will use the email you provided to contact you.

Preregistration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not preregistered, we will not be able to contact you.

If you choose to register at the door, you will need your mobile device to complete your registration otherwise you will not be allowed to attend.

Satisfactory meeting room temperatures are difficult to maintain. Always bring a sweater or jacket to ensure comfort.

No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the workshop.

Only service animals allowed - If you need to bring a service animal with you to a workshop please contact us ahead of time.
