Target Audience:  This workshop is intended for individuals who want to learn how to do business with the State of Texas.

Workshop Description: 

Do you want to do business with the State of Texas, but are not sure what is required?  Let us show you!  This workshop will introduce you to the essential programs for understanding how the State of Texas buys goods and services. We will also show you what you need to do to sell your goods or services to the state.  

The TX Comptroller of Public Accounts State Purchasing website is the location for you to learn how to do business with the State of Texas.  We will review the website to teach you:

  • How to research your National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) codes
  • About the statewide contract programs and how state agencies use them to buy goods and services
  • The purpose of Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL) and how state agencies use it to locate vendors
  • Where to find statewide procurement opportunities through the Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) 
  • What the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program is about and if you are eligible to apply for the program. 

Learning Objective: The objective of this workshop is to help you understand how to do business with State of Texas.
