Government Area:  Certifications apply to federal, state, and local government procurement opportunities.

Target Audience:  This workshop is intended for individuals that want to learn about the certification programs available with federal, state, and local government.

Workshop Description:  Government certification programs provide social and economically-disadvantaged individuals limited-competition opportunities for minorities, women, and persons with disabilities (including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses). There are also Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certifications that apply to small businesses that do not require a social or economic disadvantaged status. In this workshop you will learn about each certification program (such as 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB, state of TX HUB, MBE, WBE, etc.) available to eligible small businesses who want to do business with federal, state, and/or local government agencies. You will learn the eligibility criteria for each certification and understand the application process and documents required for submitting a complete application.

Learning Objective:  The objective of the workshop is to provide you a basic understanding of what certifications are available with federal, state, and local Government, the benefits of each, eligibility criteria, and how to apply for certification.
