The 2016 Overtime Law is in effect on December 1, 2016 and following that, you can be investigated and penalized for failure to properly follow the law. An investigation by the Department of Labor (DOL) is a serious matter and understanding the process will help an employer be prepared. The manner in which you conduct your business and cooperate in an investigation can make a difference in what type of penalties you receive or to potentially avoid violations all together.
